Woodbury native Natalie Kane
When it comes to interviewing, reporting and being camera-ready, Woodbury native Natalie Kane knows a thing or two about television. Graduating from the University of St. Thomas in 2004 with a major in broadcast journalism, Kane’s hard work and talent are evident in her successful career as a reporter. You might recognize her from the CW Twin Cities, Fox Sports North, the Big Ten Network or myTalk 107.1, where she co-hosts an arts and entertainment talk show Saturday nights, as well as reporting in-arena for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Kane’s most recent gig is traffic and entertainment reporter on WCCO This Morning, a job she calls “a dream come true.” She says that working for a legacy station like WCCO-TV is surreal because she grew up watching the channel. Her love of reporting has stemmed from her childhood curiosity and charisma. “I remember making ‘movies’ at a very young age, just across the street at Chippewa Park, right by Royal Oaks Elementary School (where I went to grade school),” says Kane.
Though the 29-year-old may be all grown up, this down-to-earth beauty is not done growing. “I have so many career goals; they range from growing my role at WCCO-TV to creating a documentary and furthering my education,” says Kane. “I think every single day gives me some sort of experience that helps to write the story of my career.”
