Bridal Bouquets Can Stand the Test of Time

Flowers bring back fond wedding day memories.

After my mom passed away a couple of years ago, my two sisters and I went through her house, the place where we had been raised. Over a few tiring, emotionally-draining but special weekends, we went through everything, bit by bit. There were a few surprises, including my bridal bouquet, which was still in the downstairs refrigerator. I had forgotten all about it, or just figured it got tossed somewhere along the many years between that day and now.

While the flowers were withered and dry, I still felt the excitement when I held it in my hand. That bridal bouquet was everything I had dreamed of—a beautifully put-together assortment of white flowers, including roses and baby’s breath. I felt so special holding it that special day, and it’s in nearly every wedding photo.

Yes, the bridal bouquet is truly special. That’s why it was so much fun to visit Tara Carlson, owner of Sweet Peas, and talk bouquets. She’s a pro, and had so many great tips for bride-to-be’s to make the bouquet the focal point of the wedding flowers. See the photos of Tara’s gorgeous creations and learn more in the February issue of Woodbury Magazine or on our website starting February 1.
