Middleton Elementary 5K BOO Dash

This fundraiser is raising money to update and replace playground equipment at Middleton Elementary.  The school is working to bring in new equipment this fall and begin a long-term goal of updating the playground and making it ADA compliant and a place every child can play.  Sign up on www.active.com, get a free t-shirt with each registration and enjoy music and free food and water after the race. More Free eBooks @ Your Library

Thanks to a new partnership between the Metropolitan Library Services Agency  (MELSA) and 3M Library Systems, users of the 100 metro public libraries in the seven-country metro now have free and fast access to thousands of additional eBooks.

To celebrate there will be a demonstration open to the public at the George Latimer Central Library in downtown St. Paul at 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 4 and pop-up stands providing more information at Park and Rides and Farmers’ Markets. Read more about More Free eBooks @ Your Library

Camp Kinder Sprouts

Children entering kindergarten have the chance to build skills needed for the upcoming year with this three-day camp. A qualified teacher will cover science, reading, geography, writing and math while introducing kids to the majesty of dinosaurs, the wonders of outer space, and the mysteries of the oceans. Coin Carnival

Head to Ojibway Park for a day of family fun at this year’s coin carnival. Activities and entertainment include “penny” games, prizes, moon walks, temporary tattoos, funky hair styling, shows by the Puppet Wagon, lunch and frozen treats.
