A long exposure photograph shows the city lights and cars on Radio Drive in Woodbury.

A familiar intersection takes on a magical glow in the dark.

Each month, we feature one of the photos from our 2018 Focus on Woodbury photo contest. This month, we asked photographer Liz Ducept to tell us about “Radio Drive,” which took second place in our City Landmarks category.

Where did you take the photo?
I took the photo on a sidewalk at the overpass of Radio Drive and Highway 94, last August.

What kind of camera did you use?
I used my tripod, my Nikon D3300, an ND filter and a long exposure setting.

What’s your favorite thing about the image, or what struck you about the scene and inspired you to take it?
I like the glow and the movement of the lights in the photo.

What’s your photography background?
I do enjoy photography as a hobby, particularly night photography—it is a wonderful artistic medium.
