This summer, community members can get out and enjoy the Woodbury Lakes plaza with the fifth annual Summer Concert Series, a weekly offering of free family-friendly musical events.

Although turntables are a thing of the past, albums are finding a new generation of fans. Woodbury Community Theatre’s The Drowsy Chaperone celebrates music’s transformative power. The show opens with a die-hard musical theater fan placing his favorite album on a turntable.

High school orchestra students generally play with their peers. Once a year, the student performers from South Washington County Schools collaborate with an older generation and play side by side.
   

He loves me, he loves me not. The Woodbury Community Theatre showcases a love story for their winter performance, Glimpses of the Moon; a tale about finding love, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
   

Fourteen-year-old Skylar Wolfe navigated YouTube for how-to hip hop dance videos. Her dance training was solely self-taught, until two years ago. She now attends Legacy Dance Studio in Woodbury.

DeAnne Sherman can’t remember a time when she wasn’t dancing. “Dance has been my passion,” she says, from her first studies as a toddler in St. Paul to her rigorous training at St. Catherine University.

The Minnesota Chorale, known throughout the country for its level of excellence, is the professional singing home to seven Woodbury residents.
