Between sports, clubs, jobs, volunteering—and, of course, schoolwork—teenagers seem to be busier than ever these days.

After winning the Lake Superior Regional FIRST Robotics Competition, the 3M Fighting Calculators high school robotics team, along with their allied teams from New London and Frazee, qualified for the World Competition in April.

As part of our annual Prep Elite feature, we chatted with nine local high school seniors about their hopes, dreams and favorite high school memories.

In two years, East Ridge High School (ERHS)  moved from an idea and a few people to school-wide events that embrace everyone, thanks to the ERHS Unified Club.

Shouazong “Faith” Hang is not an average high school student. The teen, who will graduate from East Ridge High School next spring, has a role in many activities and is succeeding through it all.

This past school year marked the beginning of the 15% Innovation Portfolio (IP) program at New Life Academy. Students in grades 6-12 explored scientific learning of their choosing and had complete freedom to learn whatever they wanted.

In September 1977, New Life Academy (NLA) opened its doors to the community, offering preschool through high school.

A fun and new way of learning has been introduced by South Washington County Schools Community Education. A school bus has been converted to a mobile classroom, or CE Skoolie.
