Rasaboxes: Directing Master Class

Curious about this contemporary directing technique? This class is geared toward experienced directors who would like to add new techniques to their tool kit. Actors who are curious about Rasaboxes are also welcome to come and explore. Taught by Kristin N. Fox, MFA in the Merrill Black Box Theater.

A workshop covering the basics of staging, composition and blocking for proscenium, thrust, arena, and immersion. Taught by Barbe Marshall Hansen, MFA in the Merrill Black Box Theater.

It’s a great opportunity for them to test out a wide variety of arts disciplines with skilled, experienced teaching artists. Tap Classes for Adults (Ages 16+):

Tap for Musical Theater: Thursdays September 5-October 10, 8:15-9:15 PM, $96

Attn: Cross-trainers! If you’re looking for a great workout that doesn’t seem like a workout, come tap with MAC!  This class is for people who have taken some tap in the past and have a basic vocabulary. Beginners/Early Intermediates who are interested in putting their skills to use are welcome here. Brush up on your steps through combination work.

Zumba not doing it for you? Take a tap class and sweat without realizing it! For the true beginner! Break down the pieces of tap dance at an easy pace and start to put together some of the basics.

Woodbury Days

Woodbury Days, the city's biggest and most beloved summer festival, returns to Ojibway Park at the end of the month for its 41st year. Organizers report that, last year, almost 300 businesses participated in the event and more than 30,000 people attended. Check online for a detailed schedule of events, but don’t miss some perennial favorites: the business fair, the bingo tent, the petting zoo, the Taste of Woodbury, the beer tent…you get the idea. Irish Fair in St. Paul

Preserve, cultivate and celebrate the rich Irish heritage along the Mississippi River by delving into authentic dishes, listening to live music and watching Irish dancers perform. All proceeds go to the Minnesota Irish cultural community and the supporting new immigrant groups through the help of the Legacy Fund.
