For over 50 years, Manitou Days has celebrated everything about White Bear Lake. From Marketfest on Thursdays to events on the lake, it kicks off with the parade that goes through downtown and along Lake Avenue to a party on Memorial Beach.
A moderated panel of local and national experts will discuss the extent to which Catholic education impacts our families, parishes, and our community at large. This event is free and open to the public. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Early this month, the annual Woodbury Area Prayer Breakfast will be held at Inwood Oaks Event Center. Marketing coordinator Lisa Boe says, “The theme this year is ‘Equipped with God,’ Philippians 4:13. We will have a panel of well-known local sports figures [who] will share their story [of] how they have been equipped with God.” Organizers expect hundreds of guests at the event. St. Ambrose of Woodbury Catholic School invites the community to its annual fundraising event. The Spring Shindig includes dinner and drinks, a live auction, a raffle for a snazzy new car, and live music. Assistant principal Erin Nemetz says, “Last year, our Spring Shindig raised over $60,000 to support our long-term tuition endowment fund. We hope to exceed that amount this year. This fund is used to help families in need of financial assistance experience the wonderful, Catholic education that Saint Ambrose has to offer.”
Honor the history of Minnesota at Fort Snelling this Memorial Day. Learn the stories of the fort’s role in the youth of our country. See demonstrations of centuries-old ways of living, join activities on the parade grounds, and maybe hear the old cannons fire. All ages.
If your child wants to grow up to be a veterinarian, this 3-hour program can set them down the right path. They’ll learn about surgery skills using a pretend patient, how to recognize common illnesses and what it’s like to work at a shelter. Kids grades 3-6.
