Junior Olympic Archery Development in Woodbury

JOAD is a program of USA Archery that teaches archery to young people, provides opportunities for awarding achievement, and helps archers enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition.

St. Croix JOAD will be starting its winter training session on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 6:30.

Aris Behavior Heath Clinic Expansion and Open House

Aris Clinic is delighted to invite the public to a celebration of its expanded advanced treatment facility serving children and teens struggling with emotional and behavioral health issues. Aris serves a five-county metro area:  Hennepin, Washington, Dakota, Ramsey and Anoka. The clinic is located at 7616 Currell Blvd, Suite 100, Woodbury, MN. This is the same building as the clinic’s previous location, but a new, expanded suite.

Chair Pilates is Here - For Men & Women 70+

Chair Pilates is here in Woodbury.  Energy Pilates Fitness Yoga, Woodbury's award-winning fitness studio now offers Chair Pilates/Chair Fitness.  We want to share the energy with men and women with any mobility issues and/or age 70+. Taught by our senior Pilates instructor, Nancy, age 65, she will motivate anyone.    We invite men and women to try this class who may have mobility issues and/or 70+.  Try us for 10 bucks for 10 days*  or $15 drop-in.  Energy also has special reduced monthly rate membership packages for people who would like to attend this class on a regular basis.

Many baby-boomers worry about the care needs for an elderly parent.  Their parents may live with the uncertainty of chronic illness and disability and have a whole host of planning issues.  However, either caregivers are overwhelmed with conflicting information or don't know where to seek help.  Such a lack of information, or the wealth of conflicting information, adds to their anxiety about caring for an elderly parent.  Indeed, it takes a team to protect an elderly person and every aspect of planning should be addressed.

End Alzheimer's Walk

Join Stonecrest, Presbyterian Homes Senior Living for the annual Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. 

The END-ALZ walk will begin at 10:45am, on a paved, wheelchair/walker accessible, very short route.  In case of inclement weather, the walk will be held indoors.

After the Blessing of the Caregivers and the END-ALZ Walk, stay for hot dogs and refreshments, live music, and information regarding dementia-related resources.

Becoming Well Within Conference

Well Within, a nonprofit holistic resource center in Woodbury, is hosting an educational day of inspiration, connections, and laughter plus resources for cancer survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

Spend a day intereacting with other cancer survivors, browsing the resource center, joining a free energy healing session, and learning how to cope with recurrence fears, discovering nutrition for healing, and self-care strategies for facing cancer and moving towards wellness.  Conference includes a light breakfast and healthy lunch.

Cheerleading Camp

Aspiring and active cheerleaders alike will benefit from this four-day camp taught by Planet Spirit. Participants will shake their pom-poms and learn a variety of simple stunts, cheers, basic gymnastic moves, jumps and warm-up techniques. Outdoor Yoga

Beginning and intermediate yoga students will enjoy outdoor yoga classes at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve. Participants will be guided through yoga sequences designed to improve balance, breathing and flexibility, while releasing stress at the same time. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early and make sure to bring a yoga mat and water bottle. For ages 14 and up (must be accompanied by adult). $5 per class with a vehicle permit. 6 p.m. North Picnic Shelter, Lake Elmo Park Reserve, 1515 Keats Ave.


Have fun and work up a sweat with an outdoor zumba class at Lake Elmo Park Reserve. Certified Zumba instructor and local, Stephen “Kepano” Blythe, leads this one-hour, family-friendly dance workout. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring water to stay hydrated. Free with vehicle permit.
