DESCRIPTION:East Metro Symphony Orchestra (EMSO) is pleased to present Rhapsody in Red\, White\, and Blue at 3 p.m. on March 15 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. \nIn honor of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States\, music celebrating the unique and diverse influences of America will be the focus of the concert. Soloist\, collaborative artist and educator Amos Lucidi will join the orchestra on piano for George Gershwin’s vibrant and genre blending Rhapsody in Blue. EMSO will also perform Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9\, also known as the New World Symphony\, inspired by the composer’s experiences in America in the 1890’s; and José Moncayo’s folk and dance music inspired Huapango. \nAdmission to this concert is free. DESCRIPTION:Woodbury-based East Metro Symphony Orchestra (EMSO) is pleased to present Symphonie Fantastique at 3 p.m. on November 2 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Admission to this concert is free. Donations in support of the orchestra’s work in the community are always appreciated. \nSpooky vibes abound for EMSO’s fall concert. The performance will begin with Modest Mussorgsky’s chaotic and ominous classic Night on Bald Mountain; and Peer Gynt Suite No. 1\, one of Edvard Grieg’s surreal pieces based on the Henrik Ibsen 1867 play. The featured performance of Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique\, the dark and dreamy five-movement symphony about a composer’s obsession with a beautiful actress and terrifying visions will complete the concert. \nSymphonie Fantastique is the first of four concerts in EMSO’s 2025-2026 concert season.
