SUMMARY:Frugal Frolic 5K
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Frugal Frolic\, an enchanting 5K loop encircling the scenic Colby Lake\, all for an unbeatable price. This budget-friendly event skips the frills like tee shirts and swag but guarantees an abundance of fun and excitement. We are a cashless race\, so you must register online even day of racers. \nThere are two options for you when running this race: \nOption 1: Frugal Frolic 5K \nJust run a normal 5K. Fasted participant to finish wins the race. Immerse yourself in the spirited atmosphere of the Frugal Frolic 5K\, where the Irish charm is palpable\, and you won’t need to part with your pot o’ gold to chase your 5K dreams. Join us for an affordable yet unforgettable running experience that puts the emphasis on enjoyment\, camaraderie and a touch of Irish magic. \nOption 2: Lucky Leprechauns Edition \nGet ready to dash with a dash of luck. The Frugal Frolic 5K: Lucky Leprechauns Edition is the most unpredictable race of the season. Embrace the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day and test your timing skills as you chase the pot of gold at the finish line. But here’s the twist: speed alone won’t win you this race—precision will. \nHow It Works \nAt registration\, each participant will predict their 5K finish time\, runners will have until March 1st to change that time if needed just email us your name and new time. No watches\, phones or timing devices are allowed during the race—it’s all about trusting your inner leprechaun. If you wear a watch\, it must be covered at all times\, if you are caught looking at the watch you will not be counted as a finisher. \nHit the course and enjoy the scenic route. \nThe winner will be the participant who finishes closest to their predicted time without going over. That’s right—it’s like racing meets a game of luck. \nPick your style of race and register today for the best price.

SUMMARY:Woodbury Polar Plunge
DESCRIPTION:The Polar Plunge is the biggest fundraiser for Special Olympics Minnesota. All funds raised by Plungers help Special Olympics Minnesota provide year-round training and services to thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state. \nThe Polar Plunge is presented by the Law Enforcement Torch Run\, a movement of volunteers dedicated to increasing awareness and funds for Special Olympics Minnesota athletes across the state. \nSo how does it work? \nFundraising is required to participate in the Polar Plunge\, but the minimum of $75 makes a big-time impact—especially at times when we need it most. \nStep 1. Register \n\nRegister for one of over 20 events statewide or for the Virtual Plunge.\nSet your fundraising goal. Fundraising is required to participate in the Polar Plunge\, a minimum of $75. Make sure to check out this year’s cool fundraising rewards for each level.\nAsk your friends\, family and co-workers to join your team. The bigger the team\, the better.\n\nStep 2. Fundraise \n\nWe get it. Fundraising can be hard\, and asking for money can be awkward. Luckily\, you’re doing it for a great cause—and we have resources to make it easy.\nDonations can be made online. If you’re Plunging in-person\, you can bring cash or check donations the day of your Plunge.\n\nStep 3. Plunge! \n\nWhen you arrive at your Plunge\, make your first stop the welcome area. This is where you will check-in and pick up your fundraising reward(s).\nMake your way to the changing tent 15-30 minutes before your Plunge time.\nPlunge!\nAfter you Plunge\, head back to the changing tent and get into some dry clothes\, then share your accomplishments with your donors and friends on social media. Your fundraising page will be open through the end of the Plunge season to receive more donations.\n\nStep 4. Bask in your generous glory \nSpecial Olympics Minnesota would not be able to serve individuals with intellectual disabilities without you. Your support means everything to us

SUMMARY:Earth Day Forest Bathing
DESCRIPTION:Forest Bathing is a slow-moving\, deeply sensory\, mindful and “bodyful” walk in nature that has shown to result in measurable physiological\, cognitive and emotional benefits. Much like walking meditation or yoga\, these activities can be practiced on one’s own\, almost anywhere\, and yet the benefits greatly increase with regular practice. And much like meditation or yoga\, the experience can be significantly more immersive when facilitated by properly trained and certified guides. \nOver the course of this walk\, you will be given a series of invitations—suggested ways to connect to your surroundings. The experience will be mostly silent\, honors each participant’s personal space and covers just about a mile and-a-half over generally flat surfaces. At the end of each invitation\, the group will have an opportunity to share a few words of reflection\, integrating the experience both internally and within community. The walk concludes with tea and light snacks. The walk will be led by a guide from Silvae Spiritus Nature & Forest Therapy\, who has been Certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. \nPreregistration is required. Registration typically closes the day before the program at noon. Program fees are nonrefundable and transfers are not permitted.
