Visitors can expect to enjoy classic, custom and innovative sips.

Dirty sodas are taking the country by storm, and first-time entrepreneurs Hadier Jassim and Mitch Riebow are bringing the tasty trend to their own neighborhood this fall with Bevvie.

The store will specialize in dirty sodas—a drink made with a soda base and special additives such as cream, flavored syrups, fruit purees and more. Jassim says Bevvie aims to serve as a communal space for beverage connoisseurs to come together and share in their love of the drink trend.

We ask Jassim to share more about her and her husband’s experiences starting Bevvie.

What inspired you to start Bevvie and bring dirty soda to Woodbury?

We wanted to bring something fun, refreshing and different to Woodbury. Dirty soda hadn’t really found its way to the East Metro yet. We saw an opportunity to create a space where everyone can enjoy bold flavors, creative combinations and a menu that feels both familiar and new.

What are some of your signature or must-try drinks?

We have the Slip n’ Slide, which blends a dark base such as [cola] with fruity flavors. Also, our Red Velvet Cake drink is a mix of a Sprite base, red velvet and vanilla bean syrup, white chocolate sauce and a cold foam top.

Can you tell us more about your protein sodas and energy drink creations?

We designed our protein sodas and energy drinks for those looking for a boost after the gym, during work or before a busy evening. Our protein sodas are a twist on typical protein drinks that blend tasty sodas with high-quality protein shake bases. Our energy options lean into the popularity and utility of energy drinks while layering them with syrups and creams for flavor and personality.

What has the process of starting Bevvie been like, and what has been the biggest challenge?

It’s been equal parts exciting and challenging. Starting a business from scratch means we’re learning as we go, from permits to branding, equipment, staffing, marketing and more. We didn’t want to franchise a business because we wanted to tailor something to fit the exact needs of our community. The hardest part has been juggling it all at once, but we’re building something from the ground up that reflects our vision and represents the community.

How do you plan to connect with the local community beyond serving drinks?

We plan to collaborate with local schools, businesses, sports teams and community groups while establishing a casual and enjoyable hangout spot where families, teens and adults can gather. Our goal is to make Bevvie feel like a neighborhood staple.

Bevvie’s menu has many playful menu names inspired by Midwest culture—can you share some examples?

We love our Midwest culture and are honored to represent the Midwest! For example, the Lumberjack Latte, which blends root beer with maple syrup, caramel and sweet cream. We will have several drinks inspired by Minnesota sports and music, like a drink inspired by Bob Dylan called Tambourine Twist, and another inspired by the Minnesota Timberwolves called Howl at the Moon.

What do you hope Bevvie adds to the food and drink scene in the East Metro?

We hope Bevvie becomes a go-to spot for people looking for something new, creative and tasty. We want to bring fresh energy to the East Metro food and drink scene, and a place where memories are made—one Bevvie at a time!
