Event offers a chance to meet fellow community members.
Geared toward both new residents of Woodbury and those already a part of the community, Welcome to Woodbury is the place for all residents to connect with the city and each other.
“The free event will feature staffed information booths from the city’s seven departments—administration and finance, community development, engineering, information and communications technology, parks and recreation, public safety and public works—where you can find out about programs and services offered to residents,” says Megan Beck, City of Woodbury communications specialist.
In addition, representatives from several Woodbury nonprofit organizations will be in attendance for residents interested in getting involved through volunteer programs and community-wide events. Members of the City Council will also be there to welcome residents.
For families bringing their children, Beck says, “There will be bounce houses to keep the kids entertained and food available for purchase from food trucks.” Otis, the community support dog, will also be in attendance.
Welcome to Woodbury is slated for 5–7:30 p.m. November 9. For more information visit woodburymn.gov.
