Photographer captures the pastoral vistas of the Stonemill Farms neighborhood.
Each month, we feature one of the photos from our 2019 Focus on Woodbury photo contest. This month, we asked photographer Manjinder Kaur Papial to tell us about “Stonemill Farms Community Center,” which took second place in our City Landmarks category.
When and where did you take the photo?
During a late summer evening in August, I was at the Stonemill Farms park. It had just finished raining and the clouds were turning gorgeous cotton-candy like colors. I luckily had my camera with me and captured the moment.
What kind of camera did you use?
I use Nikon D810. This photo was taken with [a] 12-24 mm. lens, as I wanted a wide angle lens to capture the whole scene.
What’s your favorite thing about the image, or what struck you about the scene and inspired you to take it?
Personally, I’m in love with old architecture, and our Stonemill Farms community center is an authentic barn-shaped building. When the sky began to change colors it really set the scene for me and made it an alluring shot.
Throughout the year, we’ll feature winners and finalists from our 2019 photo contest on this page. In August, you can submit your own snaps for the 2020 contest. Stay tuned to woodburymag.com for more info.
