The exterior of your home is a great way to showcase your personality and style. It also adds value. Here are some of our favorite suggestions to elevate the look of your home:
- When choosing exterior paint colors, go for a subtle tone-on-tone look. Less is more here. Think earthy, natural and sophisticated. It’s a timeless look that won’t fail you!
- Add wood elements. Everyone is loving the addition of warm woods into our interiors, and it’s also a fabulous idea for the exterior. Wood (or wood-look) garage doors, columns, pergolas, beams or flower boxes add interest without having to redo any siding material. If you are replacing siding, we love the look of adding vertical cedar siding or board and batten on sections of the house. Try to pair with colors that will make it stand out and feel purposeful, like charcoal or white.
- Level-up your lighting. Replace old light fixtures with something fresh and current. Lighting is like jewelry: It sets the vibe to complement your exterior style. Be sure to add some solar lights to highlight your landscaping or add to deck posts for evening ambiance.
- Create inviting spaces. There’s something so welcoming about going to a home with a cozy sitting area on a front porch. Add seating for multiple people and conversation with friends. If you don’t have a front porch, you can create a patio space in the front yard. There’s no rule that says it has to be in the backyard. Add an outdoor beverage cart or firepit to encourage people to feel welcomed and stay a while!
