Suicide Awareness Voices of Education plans a morning of remembrance and community.
International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day serves as a day of recognition and remembrance for people who have lost a loved one to suicide. Observed worldwide, the day of awareness is held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and offers an opportunity for communities to gather and support one other while navigating the complex grief often associated with this form of loss.

Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE), a Bloomington-based nonprofit, is hosting its annual International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day Memorial Gathering from 8:30–11 a.m. on November 22 at East Ridge High School. The free event is open to anyone looking for a safe space that offers grief support, healing and remembrance.

SAVE’s event includes music, refreshments, remembrance activities and resource tables. Attendees are invited to bring a printed photo of their loved one to add to the memorial wall honoring those lost to suicide. Those interested can also bring meaningful clothing or fabric mementos that belonged to their loved ones for inclusion in the Woven 2 Save Project, an artistic campaign and clothing line that weaves a story of action, remembrance and survival.
