Readers, it’s my favorite time of the year; beach reads abound, the sun shines endlessly and we celebrate all that makes Woodbury the best community to live, play and work in. These pages are brimming with festivities, including two local organizations that are celebrating 30th anniversaries, the Best of Woodbury and the Focus on Woodbury photo contest.
Do you remember when you were a senior in high school, and the yearbook staff assigned “Senior Superlatives” across the class? Well, I revisited that idea in my Editor’s Picks. I even flipped through my Woodbury High School yearbooks for inspiration. (I found superlatives ranging from Most Likely to be Your Boss to Worst Case of Senioritis.) It was quite fun to think about the “most likely to” and the “best place to” around town. I’d love to hear from you, Readers. If you could assign a senior superlative to Woodbury, what would it be? Send your ideas to hailey@localmedia.co.
Now, I won’t make you wait any longer. Visit the main event: the Best of Woodbury 2026. Meet your winners and runners-up across a variety of categories including businesses, service providers, shops and more, and explore the new additions to this years’ readers’ choice poll. I encourage you to utilize our list in exploring new-to-you spots or planning visits for out-of-town guests—I know I will!
It’s also the time of year when the 28th annual Focus on Woodbury photo contest opens. From July 1–August 31, I welcome you to submit your photos from around town to the contest. From the people and places of Woodbury to wildlife and beloved pets to the different seasons and abstract shots, we want to see it all. Find the details for the contest and submit your photos here.
I hope you enjoy all that summer offers. Happy Fourth of July!
