Outdoor Yoga

Beginning and intermediate yoga students will enjoy outdoor yoga classes at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve. Participants will be guided through yoga sequences designed to improve balance, breathing and flexibility, while releasing stress at the same time. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early and make sure to bring a yoga mat and water bottle. Zumba

Have fun and work up a sweat with an outdoor zumba class at Lake Elmo Park Reserve. Certified Zumba instructor and local, Stephen “Kepano” Blythe, leads this one-hour, family-friendly dance workout. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring water to stay hydrated. Free with vehicle permit. Bike it. Run it. DU it. : Kids Duathlon

Cheer on your kiddos from the sidelines as they complete a 2-mile bike ride and 1-mile run along the trails of Ojibway Park and Ojibway Park Drive. Prepare your kids by sending them off with their own bike, athletic shoes and a well-fitting bike helmet. Parents won’t be allowed on the course, but the routes will be well-staffed with volunteers to help kids along the way. As a reward for participating, every child will receive a t-shirt and a medal. Yoga/Chair Yoga

Another offering for those aged 50 and older, these yoga classes encourage mind-body connection while developing participants’ strength and flexibility. Interval Training

Aerobic and weight training for the 50+ crowd. Relay for Life

Raise money for cancer research and honor victims and survivors with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, an organized, overnight community fundraising walk. Start a relay team and take turns walking around the track at East Ridge High School. When it isn’t your turn to walk, take advantage of the food, games and activities provided. State Arbor Month Celebration and Minnesota Tree Climbing Championships

This year the DNR is celebrating Arbor Day and Arbor Month by encouraging families to play in natural settings such as your backyard, a nearby woodlot, or forested area.

The 2014 State Arbor Month Celebration will be at Oak Hill Park in St. Louis Park. The event will give families a chance to play with nature, while watching some of the best tree climbers in the state compete at the Minnesota Tree Climbing Championship.

Valley Crossing 5K Run/Walk

Valley Crossing Community School hosts its fourth annual 5K fundraising race. After taking a lap around Colby Lake, head into the school cafeteria for face painting, bouncy houses and free food. This year sees the addition of a wellness fair. Minnesota Ironman Bicycle Ride

This is no ordinary bike ride. The Minnesota Ironman returns to South Washington County for the second time in its 48th year. Riders choose between four loops on the day of the race, each of differing lengths and winding through Lake Elmo, Scandia and Stillwater. For an extreme challenge, routes can be combined to form the 100-mile route. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m., all riders must check in and start their ride before 9:30 a.m. 651.434.9626. 18th Annual Ice Show

Watch Woodbury’s finest figure skaters glide across the ice in matchless routines. Beginners, veterans, young and old, are invited to participate and showcase their prowess.
