Small Things Fair Trade offers unique items for your Thanksgiving table from around the world.

When families gather from near and far to share a Thanksgiving meal, have a cool conversation piece at the ready. At Woodbury’s Small Things Fair Trade shop, there are plenty of beautiful handmade items to choose from, each with its own baked-in story. Owner Shannon Enright says, “You feel connected to the people who made it, and…the story that goes with it.” You can feel good about your purchase, too, as each piece has been responsibly sourced and offers makers a stable living.

Blue Fez Salad Bowl ($52)
Salads stand out in this pretty bowl, made along the Mediterranean coast of Tunisia. The designs are painted freehand and feature traditional patterns. Microwave and dishwasher safe, clean-up is a breeze.

Mango Wood Salad Bowl ($48)
This 12” wooden bowl is a great basic. It’s created from mango wood rings in Moradabad, India via Noah’s Ark International Exports Company, an organization that trains artisans and helps them begin independent businesses.

Curvy Salad Set ($20)
Serve your salads in style with this hand-carved large spoon and fork set. Made in Guatemala from macawood, each pair is completely unique.

Shesham Serving Board ($38)
Made in Egypt, each of these serving boards is cut from a single piece of wood. Perfect for a charcuterie display, the boards are sourced by Fair Trade Egypt, which empowers local communities of marginalized artists.

Salt Pot ($17)
Get a little fancy with this cute salt pot and spoon made from reclaimed olive wood. Both pieces are hand-carved in Kenya.

Floral Elegance Napkins ($18)
Bring in a few seasonal colors with these floral printed cloth napkins from India. Made from cotton and block printed by hand, these napkins come from Asha Handicrafts, an organization that helps preserve India’s craft traditions while paying artisans a fair wage. Sold in sets of two.

Knotted Silver Napkin Holder ($4.50)
Made in Moradabad, India, these metal-plated iron napkin rings are sourced from 40 percent recycled materials and won’t tarnish like silver.

Table Runner ($49)
A table runner can set the stage for a great meal. This striking blue piece is made from hand-pulled cotton and was hand-woven by the women at Tienda Tipica women’s weaving cooperative in Guatemala. The blue hues are created with vegetable dye and work for many special occasions.

Turkish ceramic bowl ($64)
Showstopper here! This gorgeous bowl is hand-painted in Turkey and each one features unique designs that belong to the family who made it. The large size is 10” in diameter, and smaller sizes are also available.

Taper Candles ($14)
Give your guests a touch of whimsy with colorful and fun taper candles. Hand-dipped and hand-painted in South Africa, these candles also come in a variety of sizes and patterns.
