Writer Bios

Growing up in the beautiful Driftless region of southwestern Wisconsin, senior editor Jennifer Pitterle learned to speak Norwegian, to cross-country ski, and—best of all—to love reading and writing. She fell in love with magazine writing during college, and is delighted to return to it at Tiger Oak after stints in technical writing and public broadcasting. She loves getting to know a community from the inside out, through its schools, businesses, arts scene and interesting characters. When she’s not at her desk, you might find Jennifer penning her Scandinavian-American culture blog or hiking in Minnesota’s prairies and woods. Have a great story idea (or just want to chat in Norsk)? Say hello at
